There's been a lot in the news about the financial regulatory overhaul bill currently working itself out in Congress and, with the bill expected to be signed into law by the Fourth of July, it's a good time to look at how you're likely to benefit from the bill's passage. Here's a look at how various aspects of the legislation are likely to play out when the financial reform hits the books (adapted in part from this article). Outlook Good for Consumers One of the major changes the bill will make is the creation of the Consumer Financial Protection Agency, which would be a unit dedicated to regulating financial products with consumer rights in mind.

The Beginning of a Return to Consumer Protection?

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , ,

Many years ago, in the mid 1970's, when I began my career as a legal services lawyer practicing consumer law, it seemed that we were on a roll. Congress and state legislatures were passing a bevy of laws to protect consumers (including the Bankruptcy Reform Act of 1978.) The FTC was passing regulations and taking action against consumer scams. Innovative lawyers, often in legal services programs, were bringing class actions against a wide variety of illegal and unfair practices. These cases were received sympathetically by courts that, from a common sense perspective, could see that those practices took advantage of consumer ignorance or confusion.

Bad Credit Auto Financing Companies… Which Service Is The Right One To Use?

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

I’m confident if you found this article, you most likely are searching for information on how to get a fast approval on an online auto loan quote. Luckily there are a great deal of companies out there who have programs for military personnel with bad credit. Getting accepted can be a quick as thirty minutes to 48 hours in a lot of cases.

Here are a few things you are going to have to know in order to help you get approved for a car loans after bankruptcy, using an internet service!

The first thing to remember is to begin by doing a search in google, yahoo, MSN or any major search engine online for “Sub Prime Car Credit”. There are a a lot of services out there where people can apply directly with an automotive finance company, going around the car dealership who in turn will wind up making some money off your loan, obviously costing you a lot of money. You should try this kind of service to start. If accepted, it can wind up saving you thousands of dollars on the life of your loan. You will probably find a lower interest rate and better terms on the loan.

By getting an online approval, you usually don’t even have to step foot inside a bank. These types of car loans are usually done from the comfort of your own home. You usually have to divulge basic information such as employment info, monthly income amounts, time at your current residence and some references.

The most important thing that a lender considers is your gross monthly income and debt to income ratio. If you don’t earn enough cash to handle your monthly overhead, in the lenders eyes you probably will not make good on their loan. This is usually one of the main reasons why applicants get declined when applying for car loans after bankruptcy. Even if your credit is good and your debt to income ratio is not in line with the lenders guidelines, you can still get turned down on a loan.

You will also see that a large amount of the car loan websites online, are services that refer you to auto dealerships that specialize in bad credit auto financing. Using a company like this can at times cost you some more money, but are convenient because the used car lots do all the hard work and most likely already have well established relationships with a large amount of no credit finance companies because of the volume of contracts they do on a daily basis. So if your credit is bad, they can usually push the deal through and get you an approval easier than if you tried to do it on your own!

So do the math, see what best matches your budget. If you already had a tough journey getting a loan in the past going straight to a finance company, try going through a car financing service with a auto dealership network and see if this works. After all, you wont have to go crazy filling out 2 or 5 auto financing applications online. You will only apply on one application and the dealer will work hard to get you approved and try to sell you a car.

Many people try and find auto loans after bankruptcy but seem to not have any luck. You can easily find a bad credit auto loan by visiting eCarLoan.us the premier destination for online car credit!

Bad Credit Auto Loans: Preparing Yourself For The Best Deal

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Steps You Should Take Before You Start Shopping For A Bad Credit Car Loan!

It can be hard enough finding a good pre owned automobile that will be reliable and give you at least a few years of good service. But finding that along with car financing to go along with it, if you have no credit can be a lot more challenging. There are plenty of car dealerships out there that will give you a great deal on a new or used car. The problem is that when you do find that decent deal, make sure the dealer does not try and add in tons of extras that you do not need, that will do nothing but wind up costing you a great deal of money that you really cannot afford to lay out!

Having bad or a bankruptcy can be a somewhat discouraging when your dealer comes back to you with an extremely high interest rate on your car loan. It sort of makes you believe that there is no way you can get a good deal on car financing if you have a low credit score.

The bottom line is that used car dealerships want and need your business. If you feel like you are not getting a decent deal, you have the power to leave and continue your car shopping journey someplace else! In this article I will give you some tips on what to do to prepare yourself for bargaining and getting the best deal on an auto loan with bankruptcy.

One thing that you should do ALWAYS before you step foot inside a car dealership is, get your credit score. If you know exactly what your score is before entering the dealership you will have better negotiating power when the time comes. The majority of people go find the automobile they like first, then then speak to a person at the dealership, then the salesman breaks the news to them that their credit history is very limited and they managed to push the deal through with the lender but it has a high interest rate. In this case you have set yourself up to get overcharged on your loan and interest rate, which will wind up costing you literally thousands of dollars more over the life of the auto loan.

Your initial step should be to go and search for a service that offers all three credit reports with FICO scores. You can find literally tons of these services online by searching for them in Google, Yahoo and MNS Now known as BING. The three credit bureaus mainly used by lenders are Equifax, Trans-Union and Experian. You can also request a copy of a free credit report from all three agencies once a year, without lowering your credit score.

The most important part of a credit report used for determining your credit strength is your FICO Score. This score is determined by a calculated formula used by the credit reporting agencies. Most of the time your credit score can be as low as a 400 and as high as 850 to 900 in some cases! As the score gets higher typically over 700, thats when you start to reap the rewards of getting a better deal. If you do not know your FICO score, you may be led to believe that with your credit history this is all you qualify for. This way they can charge you more interest and in the long run you can end up paying thousands of dollars more over the life of the car financing. Remember car dealers are in business to make money, and given the opportunity, that is exactly what they are going to do. Don’t get me wrong, dealerships do deserve to make money or they could not keep their doors open and pay their bills. But consumers also deserve to get a fair deal!

Finding A Personal Injury Lawyer

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

“A law is valuable not because it is law, but because there is right in it.” H. W. Beecher (Social Reformer, 1813-1887)

Lawyers have to go through the basic education of learning all areas of law before they decide to specialize. Personal Injury lawyers specialize in dealing with areas that fall under tort law which may have affected their clients, such as accidents during work, road accidents, contaminated products or negligence of any hospital or health organization.

Personal injury lawyers are licensed to provide legal representation for victims of physical, emotional and psychological injuries brought about by another person’s negligence. They handle all kinds of cases ranging from car accidents and work related injuries to medical malpractices and even product liabilities. All these types of injuries sustained through these incidents are eligible for financial compensation once proven factual under the state law.

The legal students wishing to specialize in the field of personal injury law have to go through a lot of written exams before they are allowed to practice. They need to take an ethics exam, multistate essay, multistate bar, and multistate professional responsibility exam before they are allowed to practice and in some states they may have to undergo even more tests before starting their careers as personal injury lawyers.

The state bar council has the authority to provide the necessary certification and admittance to students after they become practicing lawyers and they become specialists only after they finish the certificate program under the American Bar association. They, of course, will also need to keep themselves regularly updated in skills and knowledge to maintain thriving careers as attorneys.

A lawyer with all the proper credentials to practice personal injury law may work with an existing firm or start up his own independent practice. They assist clients in getting justice and compensation in case of an accident caused by the neglect of a person or organization. Being an independent lawyer can be an advantage since they can provide personal attentions to clients. An established law firm on the other hand has experience and highly skilled lawyers with good knowledge of cases that might be similar to the client’s situation.

The client needs to pay an upfront fee when filing a suit, while the lawyer’s fee is based on the success of the case. If the case is won in favor of the plaintiff, then the lawyer receives a percentage of the compensation amount which can be up to forty percent of the compensation awarded. In a case where the fee awarded is related to work, then it’s regulated more strictly and the compensation is lower.

If you ever think you might need a personal injury lawyer, you can ask friends, family and your doctors or look through the yellow pages. The state bar also refers lawyers and of course, the internet is a great place to start as well.

Dedicated, experienced Toronto personal injury lawyer team who handle your case personally. Not paralegals, but licensed professional lawyers that help to resolve your case with honesty and integrity.
